Company Overview

A World Where All Children Thrive
We stand as Washington state's oldest and largest nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children. Children’s Home Society of Washington believes that everyone benefits when we support children and their families. Just as a house needs certain materials to be sturdy and strong, children also need many supports and opportunities to succeed. Children's Home Society of Washington establishes a solid foundation for today's children that will lead to prosperity for all of us in the future.

As a 125-year-old organization, we have a storied history. In 1896, we were founded by the Rev. Harrison D. Brown and his wife Libbie Beach Brown who believed children should be living in homes and not institutions. Our mission today is to develop healthy children, create strong families, build engaged communities, and speak and advocate for children.

Our Commitment

  • As a result of our work and partnerships, we are committed to:
  • Nurturing and stable families
  • Educational success
  • Social, emotional and physical well-being
  • Safe, secure children
