As a R&D Project Manager, you will report to the RD Engineering Manager. The location of this role is open to all ABB Offices and reallocation is not needed. Willingness to travel is required (around 20%)

Your responsibilities

  • As R&D Project Manager you will act as Gate Model Project Manager and your task will include the following:
  • Work with a Product Managers, Plant Manager, Engineering Managers, and R&D Engineers as a project manager on Gate Model Projects to ensure projects remain on task
  • Manage project documents and Project Reporting
  • Participate in Project Manufacturing/Engineering Reviews
  • Coordinate engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing
  • Some limited travel is required (domestic as well as international).
  • Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports
  • Interpret regulatory standards and ensure designs meet standards
  • Write papers, participate in technical meetings, seminars, and conferences
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and 8 years experience in the development or application of motors, or thermal and structural applications of rotating equipment.
  • A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience
  • A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience in either product application or development engineering of Large A/C Motors
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Knowledge in NEMA, IEC, CSA, API and IEEE standards
  • Project Management experience in the Gate Model process
  • Project management certifications
  • For the US market, candidates must already have a work authorization allowing them to work for ABB

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92'500 and $171'500 annually and is eligible for an annual bonus.
