Job Description
Position Scope
- We are seeking an FSQ Supervisor to be responsible for managing the Technician(s) as well as ensuring the facility’s compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Essential Functions
- Supervise FSQ Technician(s).
- Coordinate activities with regulatory agents.
- Initial and ongoing training of employees on policies and procedures.
- Verify policy, procedure, and standard compliance through oversight and documentation.
- Implement corrective actions to remedy policy, procedure, and standard non-compliance.
- Review and maintain all Quality Assurance (QA) and Control (QC) records, documents, and samples required by Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Prepare and manage third-party customer audits.
- Complete necessary microbiological testing (internally and externally) as assigned including In-house ATP, In-house Listeria spp., Pro-clean (Allergen) and Listeria spp (external lab). Laboratory testing includes environmental and finish product.
- Ensure compliance with quality, sanitation, and food safety processes and policies.
- Daily observation of production processes.
- Conduct weekly evaluations of products and ingredients.
- Attends weekly FSQ conference calls.
- Oversee inspection of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods to ensure the highest quality of products are delivered to customers.
- Responsible for carrying out policies and procedures as implemented by Flying Food Group (FFG), including food safety and quality.
- Work with Food Safety and Quality Scientist or designee on various projects including regular specification checks, chef tables, and vendor audits.
- Culinary evaluations of meals produced, including meats and fish. Food tasting is required.
- Ensure production documentation and labeling requirements are met.
- Follow established rules of each unit for entry to building and work areas, properly attired and in compliance with HACCP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management.

Knowledge and Skills
- Previous knowledge of food production, QA, or related experience.
- Can read, write, and understand English.
- Knowledge of food industry quality and sanitation standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods as well as lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and is exposed to extreme cold from refrigeration.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours of work will depend on the needs of the business. Flexibility on weekends is required.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
3-5 years of experience in the food industry
