Job Description

Pharmacy Interns will be responsible for daily maintenance of the institution's drug distribution system under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical pharmacist. Operational duties include but are not limited to preparation of sterile and non-sterile products, repackaging of medication, stock replenishment in all automated dispensing cabinets, inventory control including controlled substances.

Clinical responsibilities are based on level of education and demonstration of competency. Clinical duties include but are not limited to medication history documentation, weekend metabolic support coverage, anticoagulation and heart failure patient education, specialty projects as well as working alongside pharmacists to complete IV/PO substitution, renal dosing, anticoagulation monitoring and pharmacokinetic dosing/monitoring.

  • High school diploma or the equivalent required

  • Must be a student enrolled in a healthcare degree-track program

  • Pharmacy program is preferred

  • Previous work experience helpful

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds to move cases
