Your Job

1888 Management, LLC. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Investments to lead our family office investment activities and strategies. The Director of Investments will play a critical role in managing the organization's investment portfolios, analyzing investment opportunities, and maximizing returns while minimizing risks. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical abilities, and proven experience in investment management.


What You Will Do

  • Portfolio Management: Oversees the organization's investment portfolios, including asset allocation, portfolio diversification, and risk management.
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of investment opportunities, including equities, fixed income, real estate, and alternative investments. Evaluate risks and returns to make informed investment decisions.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with the organization's financial goals and risk tolerance. Monitor market trends and economic indicators to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, industry research, and evaluation of management teams.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of investment portfolios and individual assets. Implement performance measurement metrics and benchmarks to assess investment performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, investment policies, and internal controls. Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate investment strategies, performance updates, and recommendations to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders. Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with investment partners, asset managers, and other external stakeholders. Negotiate investment terms and agreements as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the investment team, providing guidance and support in investment analysis, decision-making, and professional development.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Master's degree or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax planning, accounting, or related field, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing finance strategies for individuals and businesses.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, investment principles, and asset classes. Knowledge of investment analysis techniques and valuation methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze complex financial data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to convey complex investment concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute investment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in leading and managing investment teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools for investment analysis, portfolio management, and performance monitoring.
